Sushi Gourmet in Springfield Chelmsford is seeking an experienced Assistant Sushi Chef Manager for the morning shift to lead a small team and maintain high standards. You will prepare fresh ingredients by hand, ensure food safety and allergen compliance, and uphold HACCP procedures in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires initiative, reliability and a genuine passion for sustainable, high-quality food production with on-site benefits including lunch, parking and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Food Safety certificate and HACCP/Allergens/COSHH desirable; full training provided.
• Must be able to lead a small team and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent customer service, initiative and reliable transport for early shifts.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a small kitchen team to deliver high quality sushi and meals.
• Prepare fresh ingredients by hand, including meat and raw fish each shift.
• Ensure accurate labelling and all food safety and allergen compliance.
• Maintain audit standards for food safety and cleanliness on site.
• Be an early riser; shifts can start at 6am.

Sushi Gourmet are recruiting for anExperienced Assistant Sushi Chef Managerto come and lead our team in Sainsburys Springfield Chelmsford

• A good understanding of Food Safety & Health and Safety regulations, ability to follow brand standards and comply with company policies.
• Reliable transportation for your commute to work early in the morning

And are able to:

• Be accountable forthe team in the Chef Managers absence, whilst maintaining audit standards for food and health & safety compliance while meeting EHO expectations
• Ensuring the team maintains a high standard of cleanliness and food safety on site to maintain a safe environment for our customers, our clients and ourselves
• Highly organised, with a focus on forward planning
• Prepare fresh ingredients by hand, including meat and raw fish products each shift
• Accurately labelling products ensuring lawful compliance around food safety and allergen compliance each shift.
• Be a skilled multitasker
• An early riser as shifts can start at 6am some days
• Learn new skills or improve skills already mastered

Level 2 Food Safety certificate, HACCP, Allergens and COSHH are Desirable although not essential as full training will be provided.
