Role Purpose

Assist in assessing the design, manufacture and in-service aspects of engineering assets against agreed Codes, Standards, specifications and procedures, using knowledge and experience appropriate for routine situations, under close supervision and review by line manager or Surveyor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out technical inspections/assessments under close supervision and against defined specifications/scope that includes budget constraints and contractual requirements.
  • Assist in producing reports/certificates/documents to an agreed format and within an agreed timescale.
  • Assist data collection, analysis and presentation of reports as required and aligned to the KPI’s and agreed processes.
  • Assist colleagues in delivering services to internal/external clients including creating and maintaining technical file systems, maintaining computer databases and other technical administrative assistance as required.
  • Contribute to internal/external client management, as appropriate, by acting as point of contact to effectively manage client and LRQA relationships.
  • Collate and communicate customer feedback to relevant parties seeking improvements to processes and customer service.
  • Undertake and maintain personal authorisations. Follow up on training plans. Pursue continuous professional development.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation and industry standards.
Key health & safety responsibilities:
  • Eliminate or minimise employee exposure to risks by regularly reviewing the health and safety risk register, applying appropriate controls, communicating results of risk assessments, and ensuring health and safety is considered in the planning and execution of all LRQA activities.
  • Manage your own, and your team’s, compliance with health and safety rules, instructions, systems and legal requirements to ensure employees are suitably trained and adequate resources are available to work safely.
Technical/Professional Qualifications/Requirements
  • Must have completed secondary education, relevant apprenticeship or equivalent. For direct entrant, likely to possess relevant Bachelor’s degree from a recognised University, or equivalent.
  • Shall have appropriate trade/technical/vocational qualifications/certification, if not a graduate. Shall possess job-specific certifications e.g. ASME, PED, etc. and relevant working experience to demonstrate good awareness of the relevant specialist requirements, knowledge and application.
  • Technical competencies to be assessed within the authorisations’ framework – supervised at this level.
  • Proficiency in English language commensurate with the work (both written and verbal).
  • Competent in MS Office suite of software.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Likely to have 2-5 years’ relevant working experience.
