Job description

The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Damp & Mould Assistant Surveyor to join our Birmingham team here at Fortem. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting properties where damp and mould are suspected, assessing associated risks, collecting evidence using specialist meters and equipment, and compiling thorough reports with recommendations for remedial action. This is a 6 month secondment opportunity and the working hours are Monday to Friday 8am-4:30pm.
The Customer
You will be part of one of Fortem’s largest Social Housing contracts, Birmingham City Council. This is an expanding £50m Repairs & Maintenance, Capital Works and Retrofit contract and the largest social housing contract in Europe. We are responsible for over 22,500 properties in the Birmingham area including low, medium and a significant number of high-rise blocks. This is a fast paced, focused and dedicated contract which we have been re-awarded 3 times and we are very proud to be able to support this exceptional client.
Duties and Responsibilities
Damp & Mould Assistant Surveyor responsibilities include: • Inspection of jobs where damp and mould is suspected to exist • Assessing the risk • Compiling evidence using measuring equipment, specialist meters and taking photographs • Preparing recommendations for remedial action • Creating reports • Updating records and system • Effective communication with the client, customer and internal team
What You Will Need
The Damp & Mould Assistant Surveyor will need the following experience: • High level of communication skills verbal and written • Operational experience working with damp & mould • Experience with writing reports • Experience directly working in customers’ homes • Experience working with testing equipment and meters
