Job summary

Hotel Chocolat in Belfast is seeking an Assistant Store Manager who combines hospitality excellence with commercial acumen to drive profitable sales and deliver an outstanding in-store experience. You will support the Store Manager, lead a small team and ensure operational tasks, Health and Safety, and HR processes are executed to the highest standard.

You will bring experience from hospitality or premium retailers, strong communication, and a proactive approach to coaching and development.

Qualifications

• A background in hospitality, café, or premium retailer delivering excellent customer experience.
• Understanding of P&L responsibility.
• Commercial awareness to support store decisions.
• Strong communication skills with adaptable style.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Decisive, problem-solving mindset.
• Reliable timekeeping and organisational skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Hold store in absence of Store Manager and drive profitable sales and KPIs.
• Manage Health and Safety and HR processes and procedures.
• Train, support and coach the team to be best in class.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers and stakeholders.
• Motivate staff to deliver premium customer experiences every day.
