Job summary

Matalan is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in achieving sales and profit targets, delivering KPI's and a superior customer experience. You will lead a high-performing team, drive VM initiatives and maximise stock availability, ensuring consistent standards across the store.

You will work with the management team to coach staff, analyse performance, and uphold compliance while developing talent for future store leadership roles.

Qualifications

• Previous retail management experience ideally within a volume retailer.
• Demonstrable track record of delivering high standards and KPI's.
• Proven high standards of customer engagement and service.
• Strong leadership, listening and communication skills.
• Good analytical ability and data interpretation skills.
• Proven ability to develop others.

Responsibilities

• Drive performance with store management team, development and succession planning.
• Coach the team to deliver a service culture and share best practice.
• Analyze daily sales performance and floor walks to drive commercial opportunities.
• Take responsibility for compliance and audit activities across the store.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and identify development needs.
