Role overview:
We are seeking a skilled Assistant Manager with strong leadership and communication skills to guide their team towards achieving sales and KPI targets while providing exceptional service.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Store Manager in managing all store operations to meet or exceed sales and KPI targets, setting clear sales goals, tracking performance, and evolving processes for continuous growth.
- Creating a positive team culture through recruiting, training, and ongoing development of staff, building a motivated and high-performing team.
- Analyzing sales data and financial reports to make informed decisions alongside the Store Manager, identifying operational and commercial opportunities.
- Acting as the point of contact for colleagues in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Providing excellent customer service, addressing inquiries, and resolving complaints professionally.
- Managing day-to-day operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Supporting cash management tasks such as processing transactions and reconciling tills.
- Participating in hiring, onboarding, and training new employees.
- Providing feedback and coaching to colleagues to improve performance.
- Supporting the Store Manager in maintaining colleague schedules for proper coverage and productivity.
Role objectives and KPIs:
- Contributing to achieving or exceeding the store's monthly sales targets.
- Driving additional KPIs including Units, Conversion, ATV, UPT.
- Achieving upselling and cross-selling targets.
- Maintaining a high Net Promoter Score.
- Ensuring stock accuracy during store audits.
- Ensuring all new colleagues complete mandatory training.
- Maintaining employee satisfaction and engagement survey results at or above company benchmarks.
- Assisting in keeping operational costs within the allocated budget.
Skills and Experience:
- Previous supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced retail or customer-facing environment.
- Passionate about retail with a good understanding of current trends and competitors.
- Experience in coaching and developing individuals.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and KPIs.
- Ability to analyze KPI data for commercial decision-making.
- Attention to detail and commercial awareness; experience in visual merchandising is advantageous.
- Ability to promote JD Group values to internal and external stakeholders.
