Job summary

Mitie is seeking a School Caretaker to deliver high service standards, ensuring SLA compliance and adherence to cleaning schedules at Holly Lodge High School, Smethwick. The role offers a full-time contract with a competitive hourly rate and opportunities for training and career development.

The successful candidate will maintain safety, security and cleanliness of school premises, support out-of-hours building use, and complete required training while upholding safeguarding commitments.

Responsibilities

• Undertake all required training and follow Mitie's Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental policies.
• Maintain equipment in clean, safe working order and understand all cleaning materials and chemicals used.
• Ensure proper maintenance, cleaning, security, and safety of school premises and grounds.
• Respond to helpdesk jobs, unlock/lock buildings, and carry out porterage and room setups.
• Perform PPM tasks including fire alarm tests, emergency light checks, and support out-of-hours building use.
