Job summary

Ilkeston Lighthouse Charity Shop is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager to support the Shop Manager in leading a team of staff and volunteers, while delivering high standards of customer care.

The role is 15 hours per week (9am-5pm, Mon-Sat) with DBS and other checks; flexible patterns are discussed at interview; you will help achieve sales targets, manage stock and promote a positive shop environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a retail/customer centric environment with EPOS systems.
• Ability to motivate and work as part of a team.
• Good numeracy and administrative skills.
• Experience handling banking tasks and basic records.
• Experience with volunteers is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Promote a positive team culture and support volunteer recruitment and coaching.
• Assist in organising staff and volunteer patterns to keep the shop fully staffed.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and communication.
• Oversee stock presentation, pricing and merchandising, and support sales targets.
• Take responsibility for shop operations in the manager's absence.
