Job summary

Lloyd's Register International is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager for the Heanor Lighthouse Charity Shop. You will support the Shop Manager, lead volunteers and deliver excellent customer service while achieving sales targets and maintaining stock presentation.

The role requires weekend work, 22.5 hours per week, and a fixed-term contract with potential permanent prospects. You will help ensure smooth day-to-day shop operations within a charity context.

Qualifications

• Retail or customer service experience in a busy environment.
• Experience using EPOS systems.
• Ability to motivate and work as part of a team.
• Good numeracy and basic banking/record-keeping skills.
• Willing to cover weekends and Bank Holidays.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Motivate and support volunteers and shop staff.
• Achieve sales targets and maximise profit.
• Manage stock, pricing, and visual merchandising.
• Analyse sales data and monitor performance.
• Oversee shop operations in the manager's absence.
