Job summary

Lighthouse Charity Shop in Matlock is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager to support the shop manager, motivate volunteers, and ensure high standards of customer service. The role involves coordinating staff, managing stock and displays, and helping meet sales targets in a busy charity environment.

You will balance responsibilities with a commitment to sustainability and flexible working patterns where discussed at interview stage.

Qualifications

• Retail or customer-service experience required.
• Experience communicating with diverse customers.
• Ability to motivate and work as a team.
• Good numeracy skills.
• Strong administrative and organisational skills.
• Strong communication to resolve customer issues.
• Ability to recognise stock potential to generate income.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety and Fire regulations.
• Flexible and positive attitude; able to cover holidays/sickness.
• Weekend and bank holiday availability.
• Experience using Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide people management support to shop manager and volunteers.
• Assist in achieving sales targets through stock management and promotions.
• Analyse sales data and adapt promotions using Kudos or similar tools.
• Assist with stock intake, pricing, and display.
• Maintain shop cleanliness and visual merchandising.
