Rainbows is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Daventry to support a busy charity shop. The role involves assisting the Store Manager, supervising staff and volunteers, and delivering excellent customer service while helping to achieve income and profit targets.

You will help promote campaigns, maximise donations, and ensure a well-presented shop. Salary is pro rata for 15 hours weekly, with a rota system to cover varied days.

Assistant Store Manager - Daventry

15 hour per week (2 days out of 7 on a rota basis) | £10,000 per annum (pro rata) | Daventry

Do you have retail experience, a commitment to excellent customer service and the ability to support a diverse team? We are looking for a customer-focused Assistant Store Manager to join our Daventry shop, helping to achieve strong retail results while raising vital funds for Rainbows.

About Rainbows

Here at Rainbows Children's Hospice, we provide specialist palliative care and end-of-life support to over 750 Babies, Children, and Young People living with life-shortening conditions and terminal illnesses across the East Midlands. Simply put, we're here to brighten short lives and support families, wherever they are.

Our retail shops play a vital role in funding this care. With government funding covering only seven weeks of our annual costs, the dedication of our fundraisers and retail teams helps fund the remaining 45 weeks each year.

About the Role

As Assistant Store Manager, you will support the Store Manager in the day-to-day running of our Daventry shop and deputise in their absence. Through the effective management of staff, volunteers, premises and stock, you will help achieve agreed income and profit targets, maximise donations and deliver excellent customer service. You will also help maintain a welcoming, professional and well-presented shop for customers, donors and volunteers.

Hours & Salary

• 15 hours per week
• £10,000 per annum (£25,000 full time equivalent)
• Hours will be worked flexibly across a rota, so you'll need to be able to work different days and times in line with the needs of the service.

What you'll be doing

• Supporting the achievement of income and profit targets
• Managing, training and supporting our dedicated volunteers, whose time, commitment and hard work are vital to keeping the shop running, and ensuring they feel valued and appreciated as part of the team
• Assisting with promotional and seasonal campaigns
• Maximising donations and maintaining a consistent flow of saleable stock
• Promoting Gift Aid in line with targets and procedures
• Monitoring stock turnover and supporting furniture sourcing
• Contributing to the effective coordination of collection and delivery services
