Job summary

Scope's Bognor Regis shop is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager to work with the Shop Manager, keeping the shop running smoothly day-to-day. You will help grow sales, manage shop costs, and support and motivate the team.

You’ll supervise shop operations, lead a diverse team of paid staff and volunteers, promote Scope in the community, help drive sales, manage stock and online listings, and ensure excellent customer service. Previous retail supervisory experience is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the management of the shop operations
  • Work with the Shop Manager to support, motivate, and involve a diverse team of paid employees and volunteers
  • Actively promote Scope and its services within the community
  • Support the shop manager to drive sales and effectively manage stock; assist online selling with item identification and listing
  • Help the team deliver excellent customer service
  • Deputise for the shop manager in their absence

As Assistant Shop Manager at Scope's Bognor Regis shop, you will work alongside the Shop Manager to keep the shop running smoothly each day. Every day is different. You will help increase sales, manage shop costs, and support and motivate the team.

In this role you will:

  • Assist in the management of the shop operations
  • Work with the Shop Manager to support, motivate, and involve a diverse team of paid employees and volunteers.
  • Actively promote Scope and its services within the community.
  • Support the shop manager to drive sales and effectively manage stock. Also support our online selling with identifying suitable items and listing on online selling platforms
  • Help the team deliver excellent customer service.
  • Deputise for the shop manager in their absence.

About You

We’re looking for someone who has:

Our shops are the face of our retail brand, run by dedicated, creative, and passionate teams. Shop Hours

Scope shops are open every day. Some weekend and Bank Holiday cover is needed.

  • Full-time: 35 hours per week, five days out of seven
  • Part-time: Weekly hours on a seven-day rota
