Job summary

Scope Northampton shop is seeking a Temporary Sales Assistant for a 3‑month fixed term, 35 hours per week. You will join a friendly retail team, deliver excellent customer service, handle cash and help create a welcoming shopping experience for customers.

Working 35 hours across five days, you will assist with stock, merchandising and shop operations while supporting the Shop Manager. DBS check is required; apply by 30 September 2026.

• Proven experience in a retail or customer service environment.
• Good written and numerical skills to carry out a variety of administrative tasks.
• Clear, confident communication skills.
• Friendly, efficient and professional customer service that delivers a great in‑shop experience for every customer.
• Proactive approach to generating ideas and solutions that help increase sales and support stock generation.

Responsibilities

• Complete cash handling, banking and associated administration, ensuring that till operations adhere to Scope’s policies and procedures and the Shop Operating Manual.
• Maintain a high standard of merchandising of products both in the window and inside the shop.
• Assist the Shop Manager and Assistant Shop Manager to manage all aspects of stock collection and preparation; ensuring that stock processing levels are sufficient to achieve required shop floor density, encouraging stock donations at all times.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and always promoting good practice within the shop.

The Role

Shop Hours

Scope shops are open every day. Some weekend and Bank Holiday cover is needed.

• Full-time: 35 hours per week, five days out of seven
• Part-time: Weekly hours on a seven-day rota
