Job summary

Astute People is recruiting an Assistant Shift Operations Technician for a modern Energy from Waste Power Station in Croydon, South London. The role reports to the Shift Team Leader and involves monitoring plant machinery and supporting production targets.

The salary is £46,736 with shift and location allowances, plus private medical cover, overtime and other benefits. The ideal candidate will have an engineering qualification or relevant experience and be willing to work 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification ideal but not essential.
• IOSH qualification advantageous.
• Mobile plant operation licences ideal.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring and conducting plant checks on the machinery within site to ensure optimum performance is always maintained.
• Carry out and ensure all work is conducted in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines and Safe System of Work
• Follow company procedures in reporting accidents, incidents and near misses.
• Assist in reaching the daily production targets as defined by site management.
• Have a proactive approach to the improvements of operational and safety efficiencies within site
• Assist with loading and unloading operations
• Operation of mobile plant and machinery
