Job summary

Astute People’s Power Team is partnering with a market-leading Energy company to recruit for an Assistant Shift Operations Technician at their modern Energy from Waste Power Station in Croydon, South London. The role offers £46,736 (inclusive of shift and location allowances) plus private medical, overtime and benefits.

Reporting to the Shift Team Leader, you will monitor plant machinery, follow safety guidelines, assist in reaching daily production targets and support loading/unloading

Qualifications

• Formal qualification in engineering is ideal but not required.
• IOSH or health and safety qualification advantageous.
• Mobile plant operation licences would be ideal.
• Experience in process/manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Monitor machinery and perform plant checks on site.
• Follow manufacturer guidelines and Safe System of Work.
• Report accidents, incidents and near misses.
• Assist in achieving daily production targets.
• Contribute to safety and operational efficiency improvements.
• Assist with loading and unloading operations.
• Operate mobile plant and machinery.

Astute's Power Team is partnered with a market-leading Energy company, to recruit for an Assistant Shift Operations Technician to join their modern Energy from Waste Power Station in Croydon, South London. The vital Assistant Shift Operations Technician role comes with a salary of £46,736 (inclusive of shift allowance and location allowance) + private medical + overtime + benefits.

Responsibilities and duties of the Assistant Shift Operations Technician role

Reporting to the Shift Team Leader, you will be responsible for:

• Monitoring and conducting plant checks on the machinery within site to ensure optimum performance is always maintained.
• Carry out and ensure all work is conducted in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines and Safe System of Work
• Follow company procedures in reporting accidents, incidents and near misses.
• Assist in reaching the daily production targets as defined by site management.
• Have a proactive approach to the improvements of operational and safety efficiencies within site
• Assist with loading and unloading operations
• Operation of mobile plant and machinery

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

• A formal qualification in and engineering discipline would be ideal but not a necessity
• A health and safety qualification such as IOSH will be advantageous
• Mobile plant operation licences would be ideal (forklift, counterbalance, etc)

Personal Skills, Prior Experience and Knowledge

The Assistant Shift Operations Technician role would suit someone who has:

• An Understanding of process/factory machinery.
• Ability to use sensory skills to monitor the running of machinery.
• Previous experience working within a process, production, or manufacturing environment.
• A proven track record of high performance in a similar industry
• Willing to work 12 hour shifts
