Job summary

Dr. Martens is seeking an Assistant Shift Manager for the UK Distribution Centre. You will assist in managing shift operations, lead supervisors and operatives, and ensure safe, cost-efficient performance aligned with the company’s values.

You will drive KPI reporting, support HR processes, and champion continuous improvement to strengthen distribution centre efficiency and customer service. This role sits at the heart of fast-moving logistics in the UK DC.

Qualifications

• Experience in a supervisory role within a distribution centre.
• Proven people management skills and ability to lead teams.
• Continuous improvement mindset with ability to resolve issues.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills; good decision-making.
• Proficient in MS Office and WMS usage.

Responsibilities

• Lead Shift Supervisors and Warehouse Operatives, promoting safe working practices and team engagement.
• Manage shift operations and provide coverage in the Shift Manager’s absence, ensuring staffing and budget targets.
• Drive operational performance through KPI/SLA reporting and performance management.
• Support training, development and employee relations with HR, ensuring processes are followed.
• Improve distribution centre efficiency by supporting tactical and strategic plans and promoting health and safety.
