Job summary

Cartrefi Cymru Co-operative in Cowbridge is seeking an Assistant Service Manager to help run the service and support the people we assist. You will work alongside the Service Manager, lead shifts, and ensure a safe, person-centred approach to daily operations.

You will be responsible for leadership, performance monitoring, and team meetings, ensuring the highest levels of independence and wellbeing for the people we support.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting people with learning difficulties in social care.
• Level 3 Health and Social Care (or working towards).
• Strong caring nature to support others to live an enriched life.
• Knowledge of the Care Council for Wales Code of Practice.
• Flexibility to work shifts and provide cover as required.
• A full driving licence is essential and travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the Service Manager to ensure a safe, caring service for the people we support and staff.
• Be visible in day-to-day service operations, manage duties and supervise team on rota including sleep-ins.
• Provide leadership, conduct appraisals, and lead team meetings to monitor performance.
