Job summary
United Response is seeking an Assistant Service Manager to lead services for people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs in Gateshead. You’ll support day-to-day leadership, ensure person-centred care, and oversee quality, safeguarding and regulatory compliance.
This permanent role offers development within a values-driven charity and opportunities to collaborate with families and professionals.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent required.
- Experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autism and/or mental health needs.
- Experience supervising staff teams.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, CQC requirements and regulated activities.
- Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rota and travel between locations.
Responsibilities
- Support the leadership, supervision and development of staff teams.
- Drive high-quality, person-centred support and positive outcomes.
- Support safeguarding, risk management and safe working practices.
- Maintain compliance with CQC regulations and organisational standards.
- Monitor quality, performance and continuous improvement activities.
- Support rota planning and operational delivery.
- Deputise for the Registered Manager when required.
- Build positive relationships with families, professionals and stakeholders.
