Cartrefi Cymru Co-operative is opening a new Support Worker role in Llandrindod Wells to help people with learning disabilities live fulfilled and independent lives. You’ll shape the service from day one and support individuals to participate in everyday activities within their local community.

No experience is required as full training is provided. A full UK driving licence is essential, with mileage paid for using your own car to transport people to activities.

As a Support Worker in Llandrindod Wells, you’ll have the opportunity to be part of something new and make a real difference from day one.

We’re opening a new support service in the heart of this close-knit rural community, supporting people with learning disabilities to live fulfilling, enriched and independent lives. As one of our first team members, you’ll help shape the service, build meaningful relationships and support the people we work with to enjoy everyday life in their local community.

Role:Support Worker

Location: Llandrindod Wells

Hours: We have both full and part time positions, with hours ranging between 16 to 40 hours per week. Shift patterns include daytime, evening, weekend and sleep-in shifts.

Salary:£13.59per hour and our sleep-in shifts at £60 per night and our travel expenses is paid 55p per mile

Contract:Permanent

What you’ll be doing:

In this role, you’ll actively support individuals in making their own choices and set their own goals — whether it’s everyday decisions like what to wear, eat, or do, or something bigger such as where to live, how to manage their finances, or where to go on holiday.

As a trusted Support Worker, you'll empower people to follow through on these choices, including taking part in structured activities that build confidence and develop new skills. You’ll also offer practical support to help them meet responsibilities like paying bills, maintaining their homes, being good neighbours, and staying connected with friends and family.

Your goal is to makeeveryday remarkablethrough enhancing well-being and focusing on the small, meaningful moments that bring joy and purpose. By offering this kind of person-centred support every day, this truly is a fun and rewarding role for the right person.

• can support a person with their intimate personal care with respect and dignity
• have strong communication and teamwork skills
• are able to speak on behalf of others as well as to a range of professional people
• have good written skills and the ability to record events with empathy and meaning
• have afull driving licence - essentialfor transporting individuals to appointments and activities
• have access to your own car and happy to use this for transporting people we support to and from activities as well as obtaining business insurance for your vehicle for which we pay 55p per mile to cover this
