Cartrefi Cymru Co-operative in Torfaen is seeking an Assistant Service Manager to help deliver everyday remarkable support. In this role you will work alongside the Service Manager to ensure a safe, caring service and oversee day-to-day operations on a rota that may include sleep-ins.

You will lead a team, carry out appraisals, monitor performance, and foster strong relationships with people we support and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting people with learning difficulties in a social care setting.
• Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or actively working towards)
• A strong caring nature to support others to live an enriched life and fulfil their potential
• A working knowledge and understanding of the Care Council for Wales Code of Practice
• Flexibility to work shifts and provide cover as required
• Full driving licence - essential and happy to travel for meetings and training
• Access to your own car and happy to use this for transporting people we support to and from activities as well as obtaining business insurance for your vehicle for which we pay 55p per mile to cover this

Responsibilities

• Support the Service Manager to ensure a safe and caring service for people we support and colleagues.
• In the absence of the Service Manager, take day-to-day running of the service with leadership and management of the team.
• Carry out one-to-one meetings and appraisals and hold team meetings to monitor performance.
• Build positive relationships with stakeholders and ensure the vision and values are actioned.
• Organise and model person-centred and flexible support to promote independence and fulfil potential.

Come and make a real difference: we’re looking for an Assistant Service Manager to help make everyday remarkable for our friendly team in Torfaen.

We are dedicated to supporting those with learning disabilitiesto live a fulfilled and enriched life in the community, as a Assistant Service Manager, you can play a vital role in this.

Role: Assistant Service Manager

Location: Torfaen

Hours: 37 Your shift pattern will include weekends and sleep-ins

Salary: £29,149.91pa and our sleep-in shifts at £60 per night and our travel expenses is paid 55p per mile

Contract: Permanent

What you’ll be doing:

In this role you’ll be working alongside the Service Manager to ensure a safe and caring service for the people we support and our colleagues. To do this successfully, you’ll be visible in the day-to-day operation of the service supporting duties in line with the requirements of the people we support. You’ll be working shifts on a rota basis which may include sleep ins. In the absence of the Service Manager, you’ll have responsibility for the day to day running of the service. This will involve providing leadership and management to the team, monitoring performance, carrying out one to one’s and appraisals and holding team meetings.
You’ll enjoy building positive relationships with all stakeholders and put our vision and values into action to deliver a first-class service. Above all else, your focus will be on achieving the highest levels of independence for the people we support, and on organising and modelling that support in an innovative, person-centred and flexible way to make everyday remarkable.
