Job summary

Cover People UK are recruiting for an Assistant SENDCo to join a welcoming secondary school in North Manchester from 1st September. You will support the SENDCo with day-to-day management of SEND provision and coordinate meetings with external agencies and parents/carers.

The role is initially for at least one full term, with potential to become permanent for the right candidate. You will contribute to EHCP reviews and ensure high-quality, tailored support across the school.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as an Assistant SENDCo is highly desirable.
  • Excellent knowledge of SEND processes, including EHCPs and annual reviews.
  • Confident communicating with families, external agencies and professionals.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.

Responsibilities

  • Support the SENDCo with the delivery of SEND provision across the school.
  • Coordinate meetings with parents/carers, external agencies and professionals.
  • Contribute to annual reviews, EHCP documentation and SEND administration.
  • Liaise with teaching staff, pastoral teams and senior leaders to ensure appropriate support.
  • Monitor student progress and implement targeted interventions.
  • Provide guidance to colleagues to promote inclusive teaching practices.
  • Work with the SEND team to manage priorities and support the wider department.
  • Advocate for students with additional needs across the school.
