Job summary

Dobbies Garden Centres Ltd. is seeking an Assistant Restaurant Manager to help deliver exceptional restaurant experiences across our locations.

You will oversee both kitchen and front-of-house operations, lead a motivated team, and ensure food hygiene and safety standards are upheld. You’ll drive sales and profitability through effective stock control, training, and a proactive mindset to adapt to changing priorities.

Qualifications

• Passion for hospitality with proven experience of restaurant management.
• Commercial awareness and profitability focus, with ability to drive sales.
• Ability to identify training needs and coach staff to deliver great service.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the fast-paced restaurant operation, covering kitchen and front of house.
• Lead an engaged team focused on delivering a great customer experience.
• Ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
• Effective stock management to minimise wastage and keep the kitchen stocked.
• Support delivery of instore events (e.g., Breakfast with Santa) and seasonal fixtures.
• Communicate with central support teams to maintain smooth operations and feedback to improve the business.
• Work as part of the Garden Centre Management team to deliver a safe, commercially successful store.
• Demonstrate adaptability and positive leadership during changes and busy periods.
