Job summary

Benugo in Oxford is seeking an enthusiastic Restaurant Assistant Manager to support the daily operation of our busy restaurant and café. You will lead, motivate, and develop a front‑of‑house team while delivering outstanding guest experiences.

Key duties include maintaining service standards, handling feedback professionally, managing stock and rota planning, and driving sales. Flexible weekend/evening availability is required to fit a busy hospitality environment.

Qualifications

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Restaurant Assistant Manager to support the daily operation of our busy restaurant and café. The successful candidate will be passionate about hospitality, committed to delivering exceptional customer service, and capable of leading and motivating a team in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the General Manager in the day-to-day running of the restaurant.
• Lead, supervise, and motivate front-of-house team members.
• Ensure the highest standards of customer service are consistently delivered.
• Handle customer enquiries, feedback, and complaints in a professional manner.
• Assist with staff training, development, and performance management.
• Monitor service standards, cleanliness, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Manage stock levels, ordering, and inventory controls where required.
• Support rota planning and labour management.
• Drive sales and help achieve business targets.
• Ensure a welcoming and positive experience for all guests.

Qualifications

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Restaurant Assistant Manager, Supervisor, or similar hospitality management role.
• Strong customer service skills with a passion for creating outstanding guest experiences.
• Proven experience working within the hospitality or restaurant industry.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment.
• Organisation and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of food safety, health and safety, and hospitality best practices.
• Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and evenings.
