Job summary

The Ivy Collection in the UK seeks an Assistant Reception Manager to lead guest service with warmth and professionalism. You will support the Reception Manager, motivate the team, and ensure superb standards during peak service in our celebrated venues.

Ideal candidates bring at least 1 year in a similar role, outstanding English, a friendly, charismatic presence, and a focus on guest delight. We offer development, rewards, and a guaranteed minimum contract of 20 hours.

• 1 year+ experience in this position
• Solution-driven individual able to work under the pressure of peak service

Responsibilities

• Assist the Reception Manager in building an efficient department, caring for welfare, safety and development of staff.
• Provide ongoing service standards training and food and beverage product knowledge to the reception team.
• Supervise other receptionists, ensuring standards and methods of service are maintained.
• Adhere to the department's budget and control costs.
• Attend training and meetings as required by the Reception Manager.
• Contribute to regular departmental communications meetings.
• Manage the reception desk and flow of service in the Manager's absence

Key elements of your role as Reception Manager:

• To assist the Reception Manager in the building of an efficient department, by taking an active interest in the employees’ welfare, safety and development.
• To assist the reception team in providing all staff with on-going service standards training and food and beverage product knowledge.
• To supervise other receptionists, ensuring that the correct standards and methods of service are maintained.
• To strictly adhere to the department’s operational budget and ensure that all costs are controlled and expenditure approved.
• To attend training and meetings as required by the Reception Manager.
• To conduct and contribute to regular departmental communications meetings.
• Manage the reception desk and the flow of service into the restaurant in the Manager's absence
