Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Water Industry Projects

Job summary

WES, part of the RSE Group, is hiring an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the team on a permanent basis to manage the financial and commercial aspects of water industry projects. You will work with an established team and may need to visit other offices occasionally.

Key duties include preparing Bills of Quantities, contract applications, handling variations, sub-contract administration, and reporting on financial progress. A UK driving licence and Excel proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• RICS recognised qualification or equivalent in Surveying, Construction, Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications for BOQ/Schedules of Rates and other procurement documentation.
• Experience in contract final accounts including valuations and variations.
• Experience in NEC contracts would be beneficial.
• Good IT literacy with Excel.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of Activity Schedules, Bills of Quantities and Resource profiling.
• Preparation of Applications for Payment for submission to Client(s).
• Reviewing project work scopes, notifying, and preparing variations as necessary.
• Sub-contract administration including developing sub-contract documents, reviewing, and agreeing valuations, managing variations, and negotiating final accounts.
• Analysing the commercial progress of allocated projects working closely with the project delivery team.
• Preparing internal reports such as financial reconciliation and anticipated project performance.
• Negotiating final accounts with Client(s).
