Job summary

Our client, a regional main contractor, is hiring an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their Bristol team. You will support day-to-day commercial activities on tenders and live projects, reporting to a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager.

The role focuses on cost control, valuations and final accounts to maximise project margins. The ideal candidate will have recently completed a HND or degree and experience with refurbishment or maintenance projects, plus NHF schedule of rates

Qualifications

• HND or degree completed in a relevant field.
• Experience delivering refurbishment or maintenance projects is beneficial.
• Experience with NHF or similar schedule of rates is essential.
• Demonstrates innovation and ability to work in a growing team.

Responsibilities

• Ensure optimum commercial return for the project.
• Prepare cost/value reconciliation reports monthly.
• Prepare/interim valuations at set dates to maximise position.
• Agree final accounts with subcontractors to maximise margins.
• Manage subcontract orders and procurement schedules per contract.
• Maintain control of subcontractor accounts and variations.
• Carry out quantity surveying duties on assigned projects.
