Job summary

Caddick Construction Limited is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team in the Midlands, working across industrial, logistics and commercial sectors. This site-based role reports to a Senior Quantity Surveyor and provides essential commercial support to project teams.

The successful candidate will have proven main contractor experience, strong contract knowledge (JCT/NEC) and solid understanding of construction law and commercial management.

Qualifications

• Proven commercial experience working for a main contractor.
• Familiarity with JCT/NEC forms of contract.
• Knowledge of current construction law.
• Experience in commercial management.
• Experience in procurement of subcontractors, measurement and accruals.
• Good knowledge of monthly reporting and earned value analysis.

Responsibilities

• Work on a variety of projects in the West Midlands reporting to a Senior Quantity Surveyor.
• Provide commercial support to project teams on all projects.
• Ensure projects are administered effectively to meet commercial targets and customer focus.

We are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team in the Midlands due to a number of exciting new projects. This role will be working across a range of industrial, logistics and commercial sectors.

What You’ll Do

• As an Assistant QS/QS, you’ll be working on a variety of projects in the West Midlands reporting directly to one of our Senior Quantity Surveyors.
• The role is primarily site based and will provide commercial support to the project teams on all projects for which they are responsible.
• Ensure that projects they are responsible for are administered effectively and that the business objectives in terms of appropriate commercial targets and customer focus are achieved with the support of the commercial team.

What We’re Looking For

Skills and Experience

• Proven Commercial experience working for a Main Contractor.
• Familiarity with JCT/NEC/ forms of contract.
• Knowledge of current Construction Law.
• Experience in commercial management.
• Experience in procurement of subcontractors, measurement and control cycle, certificates and accruals calculations.
• Good knowledge of monthly reporting and earned value analysis.
