Job summary

WPS is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of a high-volume contract managing ~4,500 properties. The role offers exposure to commercial functions and collaboration with experienced surveyors and operational teams in a social housing context.

You will learn NHF Schedule, cost control, CVR processes, and procurement for voids; the role emphasizes development, site measurements, and timely reporting as part of a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Studying toward or has completed a construction-related degree.
• Strong interest in quantity surveying and cost management.
• Understanding of construction methods, cost control and valuation.
• Contract administration knowledge.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Highly organised with a proactive mindset and willingness to develop.

Responsibilities

• Maximise contract value and entitlement.
• Manage ~200 exclusions per month and 25–30 voids.
• Carry out site measurements and take-offs.
• Monitor weekly materials and subcontractor spend vs forecasts.
• Support production of cost/value reports and commercial insight.
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors and internal teams.
