Job summary

Oakland Construction Ltd is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the Commercial Team in managing project costs and commercial documentation. The role involves working closely with Quantity Surveyors, site managers, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered commercially and in line with Oakland Construction’s standards.

You will develop your commercial knowledge, participate in cost reporting, and help identify risks and opportunities within construction projects.

• Interest in main contracting, building and construction.
• Experience in a commercial/Quantity Surveying environment.
• Strong numerical and analytical capabilities.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organisational and time-management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Quantity Surveyor with day-to-day commercial management of construction projects.
• Help monitor project costs, budgets and expenditure.
• Maintain accurate cost records and commercial documentation.
• Assist with preparing and updating project financial reports and forecasts.
• Identify and report commercial risks, cost pressures and opportunities.
• Contribute to cost/value reconciliations and financial information.
• Develop understanding of project financial performance and reporting.
