Job summary

Kier Group is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team in Mid Lothian. You will help manage project costs, assist with payments, measurements, and reporting within NEC/JCT contract frameworks, under supervision of senior professionals.

The role requires a proactive, collaborative approach, a full driving licence, and the ability to work with internal and external stakeholders. The position offers 40 hours per week with some flexibility.

Qualifications

• Experience working within a main contractor environment.
• Strong understanding of NEC/JCT contracts.
• Able to liaise with clients, sub-contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Full driving licence required.
• Collaborative and focused approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the commercial management of projects and developing quantity surveying skills.
• Undertaking site measurements and preparing information for payment applications.
• Reviewing sub-contractor applications for payments.
• Supporting accurate assessment and reporting of project financial positions.
• Assisting in the production of commercial reports and working with internal and external stakeholders.
