Job summary

United Infrastructure is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial management of Affinity Water projects. You will assist with cost control, contract administration, and financial reporting while gaining exposure to all aspects of project commercial delivery within the utilities sector.

The role requires a degree in Quantity Surveying or working towards one, with strong numerical and analytical skills.

Qualifications

Some experience in a commercial, construction, or utilities environment (placement or graduate role acceptable).
Basic understanding of quantity surveying principles and cost management.
Awareness of NEC contracts (desirable but not essential).
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Degree qualified or working towards a degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
Desire to work towards professional accreditation (RICS/CICES).

Responsibilities

Assist in cost control, contract administration, and financial reporting on Affinity Water projects.
Prepare applications for payment and supporting documentation.
Support cost capture, allocation, and CVR processes.
Assist in administering NEC or similar contracts and manage variations.
Support procurement of subcontractors and suppliers.
Help prepare monthly financial reports and performance summaries.
Engage with site teams, engineers, and project managers.
Maintain auditable commercial records and ensure governance.
