Job summary

SP Electricity North West is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to provide commercial and contractual support across diverse projects. You will help ensure delivery in line with contracts, internal controls, and industry standards.

Key duties include risk/opportunity highlighting, final account support, tender assessment, variations handling, and site reviews. Requires HNC+ in Quantity Surveying and NEC/JCT awareness, with strong numerical skills and Excel proficiency.

Qualifications

• HNC or above in Quantity Surveying.
• Relevant experience in construction or utilities.
• CVR, cost control and forecasting awareness.
• Contract administration with NEC/JCT awareness.
• Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Highlight risks and opportunities to the Commercial team.
• Assist final account compilation, submissions and contractor reviews.
• Support Works Order pricing with Project Managers.
• Assess tender returns with Project Managers.
• Identify variations and process per contract terms.
• Support dispute management per responsibility level.
• Assist in contractor performance management against standards.
• Ensure contract compliance and produce contract instructions.
• Compile Commercial reports and briefings.
• Attend sites to review progress, costs, and variations.
