Job summary

Wates Property Services is seeking an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of planned maintenance works across social housing properties in Redditch, Worcester and Malvern. This role offers a clear path for a developing professional looking to progress within a major UK property services provider.

Qualifications

• Experience as Trainee, Graduate or Assistant Quantity Surveyor within construction, property services or social housing (Desirable).
• Experience with Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractors (Desirable).
• Proactive attitude with willingness to learn and develop.
• Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel across North London sites. (Essential)
• Working towards or pursuing professional membership with RICS or a similar body (Desirable).

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the commercial management of planned maintenance, retrofit and decarbonisation projects.
• Supporting the preparation of valuations, applications for payment and cost reporting.
• Assisting with subcontractor procurement, negotiation and account management.
• Monitoring project costs and helping to identify commercial risks and opportunities.
• Supporting variation management and change control processes.
• Assisting with preparation of monthly CVRs and commercial performance reports.
• Building strong working relationships with operational teams, subcontractors and client stakeholders.
• Supporting the agreement of final accounts.
• Ensuring accurate record keeping and adherence to company commercial procedures.

About The Role

We are seeking an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of planned maintenance works across social housing properties within Redditch, Worcester and Malvern - Car allowance provided.

This is an excellent opportunity for a developing commercial professional currently working as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor, Graduate Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to take the next step in their career.

Experience We're Seeking

• Experience working as a Trainee, Graduate or Assistant Quantity Surveyor within the construction, property services or social housing sectors. (Desirable)


• Previous experience working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor. (Desirable)


• A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.


• Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel across North London sites. (Essential)


• Working towards or interested in pursuing professional membership with RICS or a similar professional body (Desirable)
