Wates Property Services is seeking an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of planned maintenance across social housing properties in Redditch, Worcester and Malvern. The role is ideal for someone currently working as a Trainee, Graduate or Assistant QS looking to progress in a multi-million-pound social housing programme.

The role offers a car allowance, a bonus scheme and a wider benefits package, with site-based travel across the specified regions.

Qualifikationen

• Experience as Trainee/Graduate/Assistant Quantity Surveyor in construction, property services or social housing (desirable).
• Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel across North London sites (essential).
• Pursuing professional membership with RICS or similar body (desirable).

Aufgaben

• Assist with the commercial management of planned maintenance, retrofit and decarbonisation projects.
• Assist with valuations, applications for payment and cost reporting.
• Assist with subcontractor procurement, negotiation and account management.
• Monitor project costs and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
• Support variation management and change control processes.
• Prepare monthly CVRs and commercial performance reports.
• Build relationships with operational teams, subcontractors and client stakeholders.
• Assist with final accounts and maintain accurate records.

This is an excellent opportunity for a developing commercial professional currently working as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor, Graduate Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to take the next step in their career.

Main Duties

• Assisting with the commercial management of planned maintenance, retrofit and decarbonisation projects.
• Supporting the preparation of valuations, applications for payment and cost reporting.
• Assisting with subcontractor procurement, negotiation and account management.
• Monitoring project costs and helping to identify commercial risks and opportunities.
• Supporting variation management and change control processes.
• Assisting with preparation of monthly CVRs and commercial performance reports.
• Building strong working relationships with operational teams, subcontractors and client stakeholders.
• Supporting the agreement of final accounts.
• Ensuring accurate record keeping and adherence to company commercial procedures.

Experience We're Seeking

• Experience working as a Trainee, Graduate or Assistant Quantity Surveyor within the construction, property services or social housing sectors. (Desirable)
• Previous experience working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor. (Desirable)
• A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
• Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel across North London sites. (Essential)
• Working towards or interested in pursuing professional membership with RICS or a similar professional body (Desirable)
