We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join an award-winning developer in Nottingham.

The role: Assistant Quantity Surveyor

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will report to the Commercial Manager and will assist in the commercial delivery of a large residential scheme comprising 760 units. This project is set to run for 5 years. You will be site-based, gaining invaluable experience while working closely with the construction process. Reporting to a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will assist with cost management from procurement to the completion of sub-contract final accounts. This is a key role, and the successful candidate will have worked in a similar level role for a main contractor or developer within the region.

The right person

• HNC in Quantity Surveying / Construction Management or equivalent
• Experience of working within the construction industry as a Quantity Surveyor
• Excellent IT, analytical, and communication skills
• Strong mathematical ability
• Ability to assess and analyze information
• Good understanding of budget management
• Negotiating and networking skills
• Familiar with construction contracts, not limited to standard forms
• Able to work within a busy team and under pressure
• Familiarity with different methods of construction, e.g., Timber Frame, Traditional Masonry
• COINS software experience
