Their sterling reputation as a contractor has allowed them to branch out into numerous markets including: Civil Engineering & Infrastructure, Residential, Commercial & Retail to name a few, with project sizes ranging from £20m - £100m.

The company puts relationships at the heart of everything that they do. This is reflected in the fact that they have used many of the same sub-contractors since their early days as a contractor and also enjoy an incredibly high level of repeat business with clients with whom they have built solid professional relationships.

This role sits within the Civils arm of the business, which specializes in a range of Civil and Infrastructure projects including earthworks, section 278 works, and rail freight.

The Role

In your role as Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will report to and work closely with the lead QS on site, on large civil engineering & infrastructure projects with values between £20m-£80m within the Greater Midlands.

As the role progresses, you will be given the opportunity to manage your own construction packages under the guidance and leadership of the lead QS. Typical responsibilities include:

  1. Liaising with the site teams and taking the lead with contract administration and record keeping.
  2. Identifying opportunities to maximise cost/value management.
  3. Assisting with the procurement and management of subcontract packages.
  4. Assisting with internal valuations, CVR, and End Life Forecasts.
  5. Assisting with the preparation of contractual claims.
  6. Measuring and assessing the work undertaken and submitting detailed, accurate, and timely applications.
  7. Supporting the project team in all commercial matters.
