We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor/ Estimator to join our growing team on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven professional to contribute to the Strategic Works Division construction projects while advancing your career. Projects are predominantly architectural fit out works on MOD sites. The role is office based in Aldermaston/Tadley with site visits as required.

• Good organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

• Committed to delivering excellent service and maintaining strong relationships with clients throughout the project lifecycle.

EXPERIENCE

•Previous experience on AWE, Nuclear or MOD projects and familiarity with procedures is desirable. Architectural fit out knowledge is desirable.

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, with proven project delivery skills. Experience working in the public sector.

• Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Contract Knowledge:

• Extensive experience with construction contracts, NEC3 or NEC4 (New Engineering Contract) experience is desirable, but not essential.

Technical Skills:

• Experience of estimating, change management, delay analysis, cost risk management, contract documentation preparation, contract administration and strong MS excel skills.

• Strong understanding of financial management principles, including cash flow analysis, cost reporting and forecasting.

Procurement:

• Experience in supporting procurement processes, including subcontractor selection, NEC subcontract documents and supplier negotiations.

Legal Compliance:

• Familiarity with construction-related legislation and the ability to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Communication:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Professional body certifications and memberships.

OTHER

• The nature of our work does mean individuals need to be a British Citizen who has been resident in the UK for the past 10 years in order to apply for Clearance.

• British passport holders only.

Willing and able to obtain and maintain security clearance (SC).Eagerness to stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and ongoing professional development.
