Base pay range

Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Commercial refurbishment - Central London

We are currently working with a Main Contractor with proven success across the UK, specialising in sectors including commercial offices for both developers and tenants; retail, leisure and hospitality facilities; education schemes; and residential schemes for both developers and private owners.

Due to growth, they are now seeking an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Central London.

Responsibilities

1. Supporting Cost Management Activities: Assist with tracking project costs, preparing cost reports, and maintaining accurate records to support effective budget control throughout the refurbishment works.
2. Measurement & Take-Offs: Carry out quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications to support valuations, procurement, and variation assessments.
3. Procurement Support: Help with issuing enquiries, comparing subcontractor quotes, and drafting order documentation under the guidance of senior commercial staff.
4. Valuations & Payment Processes: Assist in preparing interim valuations, reviewing subcontractor applications, and processing payments in line with project progress and contractual terms.
5. Document Control & Administration: Maintain organized records of contracts, correspondence, and cost data, ensuring clear audit trails and assisting in the preparation of final accounts.

Requirements

• Previous Main Contractor experience is desired.
• Must have relevant degree-level qualification or equivalent.
• Must have 1+ years of experience.
