Job summary

Kier Group in Mid Lothian is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team. You will assist in the commercial management of projects, help manage costs and value, and work under experienced professionals to develop your quantity surveying skills.

You will undertake site measurements, assist with payment applications, review subcontractor payments, and help produce commercial reports, liaising with internal and external stakeholders as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience working within the main contractor environment.
• Sound understanding of NEC/JCT contracts.
• Confident in dealing with client representatives, sub-contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Full driving licence.
• Collaborative, trusted and focused approach to your work.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the commercial management of projects and developing quantity surveying skills.
• Undertaking site measurements and preparing information for payment applications.
• Reviewing sub-contractor applications for payments.
• Supporting accurate assessment and reporting of project financial positions.

We're looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team based in Mid Lothian.

Mid Lothian

Hours:

40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

What will you be responsible for?

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the commercial team, supporting them in delivering successful project outcomes. Your day to day will include:

• Assisting in the commercial management of projects and developing your quantity surveying skills
• Undertaking site measurements and preparing information for payment applications
• Reviewing sub-contractor applications for payments
