About the opportunity

We are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our expanding team at Soben. In this role, you will support a key construction client in the region by developing and implementing procurement and commercial strategies across various projects.

What you'll do

• Prepare cost estimates and cost plans for review, including benchmarking
• Develop value engineering and life cycle costing options
• Identify potential risks and maintain the risk register
• Participate in meetings related to pre-contract processes and contribute to procurement strategies
• Attend client and design team meetings, recording discussions and advising on cost implications
• Assist in lease negotiations and validation of tenant improvement allowances
• Contribute to the development of project templates
• Manage change order logs, invoice logs, and cost reports
• Research pricing and assist with measurements for development appraisals
• Draft and review pre-qualification questionnaires and responses
• Perform other duties as assigned

About you

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
• At least two years of experience in cost estimating
• Proficient in CostX and Microsoft Office applications
• Knowledge of construction technologies and sustainability trends
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Field experience is a plus
