Job description

A tier one international civil engineering firm is seeking to recruit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team in the South East.

The company undertakes a variety of projects including coastal defence, port & harbour regeneration and development, river management, and public realm schemes.

Projects range from £500K to £17M in value, with clients including local authorities, the Environment Agency, and private developers. Current schemes are located across Kent, Sussex, and Hampshire, with upcoming projects based in Kent and East Sussex. A hybrid working arrangement is available.

The Role

1. Reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor, responsibilities include assisting with:
2. Collection, review, and analysis of site data, and maintaining cost records
3. Subcontract procurement and change management
4. Completing early warnings, compensation events, and their agreement with the client
5. Carrying out monthly Cost & Value reconciliations
6. Forecasting costs throughout the project lifecycle
7. Preparing monthly project valuations and final account agreements with the client

Experience Required

1. Candidates should be educated to BSc Quantity Surveying (or working towards it) or an equivalent qualification, with experience in civil engineering projects.
2. A working knowledge of NEC contracts is highly desirable.
