We are seeking to welcome an Assistant Quality Inspector (Repairs & Maintenance) to join our family-friendly company based in Northfleet, Kent.

You will be joining us as we continue our vision to deliver high-quality building and electrical services with a focus on quality, customer service, value for money, and people.
About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Repairs Quality Inspector to join our voids team. The main purpose of this role is to monitor and inspect the quality of repairs and maintenance works carried out within our voids, ensuring that work is completed to a high standard, in line with required specifications, health and safety requirements, and our service standards.
This is a hands-on, quality-focused role, involving site visits, inspections during the repair process, identifying poor workmanship, and ensuring that any issues are addressed promptly.
The successful candidate will work closely with operatives, subcontractors, supervisors and the wider repairs team to help improve the quality of work, reduce repeat repairs and deliver a better service for our client’s residents.

- Communicate quality concerns clearly to operatives, supervisors and contractors.
- Follow up on identified defects to ensure corrective work has been completed to the required standard.
- Carryout follow-up inspections and re-inspections where necessary.
- Monitor recurring quality issues and highlight trends to management.
- Help reduce repeat repairs, avoidable costs and unnecessary return visits.
- Ensure that appropriate health and safety practices are being followed during repair and maintenance activities.
- Maintain professional and respectful relationships with residents, contractors and colleague.

ESSENTIAL:
- Experience in repairs and maintenance, property maintenance, construction or a related trade.
- A good understanding of building repairs, maintenance processes and expected standards of workmanship.

- Good communication skills, with the confidence to raise concerns about the quality of work.
- Ability to record findings accurately and produce clear inspection reports.
- A practical, organised and methodical approach to work.
- Ability to work independently, manage an inspection workload and prioritise tasks.

- Previous experience carrying out quality checks, snagging inspections or property inspections.
- Experience working within social housing or for a housing association.
- Knowledge of responsive repairs, planned maintenance and void property works.
- Relevant trade qualifications or a construction-related qualification.
- An understanding of health and safety requirements within occupied residential properties.
- Experience using mobile inspection systems, tablets or property management software.
