If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Repairs Surveyor to join a well-established housing provider.

This organisation is dedicated to providing safe, well-maintained homes and a positive customer experience. Working across both responsive repairs and voids, you will play a key role in ensuring properties remain compliant, fit for purpose, and ready for occupation.

The Role

This is a varied, site-based position where you will take ownership of inspections, technical advice, and contractor management. Responsibilities will include:

• Conducting property inspections, including disrepair cases, damp and mould assessments, customer concerns, and stock condition surveys
• Diagnosing building defects and providing technical guidance to colleagues and residents
• Monitoring contractor performance, auditing works, validating invoices, and ensuring delivery meets required standards, timescales, and budgets
• Maintaining accurate records and updating asset management systems with clear reporting
• Inspecting fire safety remedial works and new build defects to ensure compliance and quality
• Supporting operations across a wider geographical patch when required
• Handling customer queries and working collaboratively with internal teams
• Participating in an out-of-hours rota for telephone support
• Contributing positively to a customer-focused, high-performing repairs service

About You

The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with excellent communication skills and a proactive approach. You will ideally demonstrate:

• Sound knowledge of building pathology, construction methods, and housing maintenance
• Experience with stock condition surveys, fire risk assessments, and asbestos reinspection processes
• Understanding of responsive repairs, voids, and planned works within a housing environment
• Knowledge of landlord and tenant legislation and wider housing regulations
• Experience working within occupied properties and dealing directly with customers
• Confidence in managing contractors, reviewing works, and ensuring compliance
• Familiarity with relevant building regulations (including Parts A, L, M and P)
• Awareness of disrepair processes, party wall matters, and asset management principles
• Strong IT capability, including Microsoft Office
• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
