Job summary

Apple Technical Recruitment is seeking an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a flagship New Build Education project in Cambridgeshire. You’ll work on-site with an established commercial team, gaining hands-on experience and a clear path to progress toward a Quantity Surveyor role.

The role suits candidates with 1+ year experience in a main contractor environment, a degree or HND in QS, and a proactive, collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of commercial experience within a Main Contractor environment.
• Degree/HND in Quantity Surveying or working towards one.
• Good numerical abilities and strong communication skills.
• Proactive, collaborative attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist with sub-contractor enquiries, package procurement, and tender analysis.
• Conduct on-site measurement, site visits, and valuations of ongoing work.
• Help manage package variations, cost reporting, and financial tracking.
• Assist with the agreement of final accounts and sub-contract payments.
