Job summary

Apple Technical Recruitment are working with an award-winning Tier 1 Main Contractor to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor for a permanent role based in East Anglia, initially East Norfolk, starting ASAP.

You will lead a £3m project, work alongside an experienced Managing QS on larger schemes, with a clear pathway to lead £10m+ projects in the future. The salary is c£50k-£60k with a competitive package including car or allowance, pension, healthcare and bonus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years+ experience as a QS on Construction projects.
• Strong negotiation and measurement skills.
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying.
• Experience as Quantity Surveyor or Project QS or Intermediate QS or Assistant QS.

Responsibilities

• Measurement & valuations.
• Applications for payment.
• Reconciling accounts.
• Dealing with sub-contract enquiries, through to practical completion and final accounts.
• Good communication, contract administration and negotiation desirable.

Company & Project: Apple Technical Recruitment are working alongside an award winning Tier 1 Main Contractor operating in the Mixed-Use, Education, Healthcare, Leisure and Commercial sectors, seeking to recruit an experienced an effective Quantity Surveyor to complement their Commercial Management team, based in East Anglia and working on local projects initially in East Norfolk.
The successful candidate will be leading their own c£3m project and working alongside an experienced Managing QS on a larger project in the region, with a pathway and development opportunities to leading their own projects c£10m+ in the future.

Our client has an exceptionally strong order book, is a highly profitable business and boasts an exciting pipeline of projects across the region.

Duties & Responsibilities

• The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing daily commercial management functions, including but not limited to;
  • Measurement & valuations.
  • Applications for payment.
  • Reconciling accounts.
  • Dealing with sub-contract enquiries, through to practical completion of the project and settling final accounts.
  • Good communication skills, contract administration and negotiation is desirable for this role.

Previous experience working for a Main Contractor is essential for this position.

Desirable Experience

• Minimum 5 years+ experience as a QS on Construction projects.
• Good negotiation skills and previous experience measurement.
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying.
• Previous Roles: Quantity Surveyor OR Project QS OR Intermediate Quantity Surveyor OR Assistant Quantity Surveyor.
