NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a dedicated individual for a part-time role in Medical Equipment Management. The position involves managing reception and stores, ordering parts, and providing excellent customer service. The successful candidate will work 14.5 hours weekly, primarily on Thursdays and Fridays, and will receive training in procurement systems. The shift pattern for this position is Thursday (8am to 4pm) and Friday (8am to 3.30pm). Please note that the salary is pro-rata for part-time hours.
Medical equipment is crucial for the diagnosis and treatment of patients across hospital areas and beyond. Ensuring fully functional and accurate medical equipment is essential for patient safety, and the Medical Equipment Management service is responsible for this. This team comprises highly trained clinical engineer technologists managing over 55,000 devices across ten hospital sites, completing over 50,000 jobs annually.
This role involves providing purchasing, stores, and reception services for the Medical Equipment Management teams based at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and the Royal Hospital for Children. You will have a permanent 14.5-hour contract, working 7.5 hours on Thursday and 7 hours on Friday.
Your responsibilities include managing the reception area and stores, ordering parts, performing stock takes, booking goods and equipment, organizing uplifts, and being the first point of contact for visitors. Training will be provided on the Medical Equipment Management and procurement systems, along with completing the healthcare support worker induction.
