Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is recruiting an Assistant Psychologist to support adults with learning disabilities within the Glasgow City HSCP Learning Disability Service. You will work under qualified Clinical Psychologists to contribute to assessments, interventions, research and service development in a multidisciplinary team.

The role is based at Castlemilk Social Work Office with a Monday–Friday pattern.

Qualifications

• Honours degree in Psychology (1st/2:1).
• Eligibility for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC).
• Experience with building relationships and working with people.
• Understanding of learning disabilities and related conditions.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Good understanding of psychology theory, methods and evidence-based practice.
• Strong IT skills and ability to work with databases.

Responsibilities

• Support qualified Clinical Psychologists in assessments and interventions for adults with learning disabilities.
• Assist with formulation and implementation of care plans.
• Contribute to planning and delivery of therapeutic groups.
• Participate in MDT meetings and coordinate with healthcare professionals.
• Assist with audits, research projects, data collection and reporting.
• Support development of resources and service improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and uphold standards of practice.
