Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a Registered Nurse Learning Disability to join Specialist Learning Disability Inpatient Services within the NHSGGC. You will deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to individuals with learning disabilities who may also present with complex physical, behavioural or mental health needs.

You will work as part of a skilled multidisciplinary team, undertake assessment, care planning and evaluation, and act as a Named or Associate Nurse for a defined

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse Learning Disability qualification or RMN qualification.
• Current NMC registration or eligibility to register.
• Knowledge of caring for individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs.
• Understanding of Mental Health legislation and Adults with Incapacity legislation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients with learning disabilities and complex needs.
• Undertake assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised care programmes.
• Act as a Named or Associate Nurse for a defined patient group.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues to support positive patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate patient records and provide effective written and verbal clinical communication.
• Respond appropriately to clinical incidents, emergencies and changes in patient presentation.
• Support, supervise and develop students, support workers and junior members of staff.
