Job summary

Cygnet Fountains is seeking an Assistant Psychologist to support the psychological care of patients at the Blackburn service. The role assists the Qualified Psychologist with assessments, formulations and care plans, and involves delivering individual and group programmes.

Hours are 40 per week, Monday to Friday, with a 9:00–17:00 schedule. DBS check required; benefits include pension, CPD, and opportunities for research involvement.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Psychology (2:1 or above).
• BPS Accredited.
• Master's degree in Psychology preferred.
• Experience in health care or Assistant Psychologist role is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Clinical formulation and implementing care plans for psychological treatment.
• Plan, deliver and evaluate individual/group programmes.

Assistant Psychologist - Cygnet Fountains

Location: Pleasington Close, Blackburn, Lancashire, BB2 1TU

Hours: Full-time (40 Hours per week, Monday to Friday)

Salary : £28,826.70 per year

We are looking for an Assistant Psychologist to join our team at Cygnet Fountains

This role will be working Monday to Friday 9.00. to 17:00.

Cygnet Fountains is a high support inpatient rehabilitation (level 2) service for men who have severe and enduring mental illness and who may have been detained under the Mental Health Act. The individuals we support come to us following multiple placement breakdowns, failed treatment programmes or stepping down from secure settings.

Job Role

We are seeking an academically strong candidate to support and enhance the psychological care of patients at the service by assisting the Qualified Psychologist with:

• Contributing to assessments, scoring and reporting (verbal / written)
• Clinical formulation and implementing care plans for psychological treatment
• Planning, delivering and evaluating individual / group programmes
• Administration, audit, research and service development

We're looking for someone who is

• Degree qualified in Psychology (2:1 or above) or equivalent
• BPS (British Psychological Society) Accredited
• Preferably experienced in health care and/or in an Assistant Psychologist role
• Passionate about learning and working as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Qualified to Master's degree level or higher in Psychology (preferable)

Previous Assistant Psychologist experience, inpatient mental health experience or experience supporting people with psychosis, complex trauma or neurodevelopmental needs would be advantageous.
