Job summary

Cygnet Hospital Clifton is recruiting an Assistant Psychologist for a part-time role (16 hours per week) based at Clifton Hospital. You will assist with assessments, planning and evaluating psychological programmes, under supervision, as part of an interdisciplinary team in a 25-bed low secure service for men with complex needs.

The post requires psychology degree and BPS accreditation, with a preference for a Master's in psychology.

Qualifications

• Support and enhance psychological care by assisting the Qualified Psychologist with assessments and reporting.
• Plan, deliver and evaluate individual/group programmes.
• Administration, audit, research and service development.

We are looking for an Assistant Psychologist to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Clifton. This role will be part time, 16 hours (two days per week) between Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00. Cygnet Hospital Clifton is a 25 bed specialist low secure service for men with personality related difficulties, who also present with complex mental health needs and challenging behaviours. The hospital is set out across two wards; Ancaria Ward is the admissions/ initial treatment ward, which offers a defined pathway through to Acorn Ward, which has a focus on rehabilitation, in preparation for moving on into the community or supported living.

Your Day-to-Day

We are seeking an academically strong candidate to support and enhance the psychological care of patients at the service by assisting the Qualified Psychologist with;

• Contributing to assessments, scoring and reporting (verbal / written)
• Clinical formulation and implementing care plans for psychological treatment
• Planning, delivering and evaluating individual / group programmes
• Administration, audit, research and service development

We're looking for someone who is

• Degree qualified in Psychology (2:1 or above) or equivalent
• BPS (British Psychological Society) Accredited
• Preferably experienced in health care and/or in an Assistant Psychologist role
• Passionate about learning and working as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Qualified to Master's degree level or higher in Psychology (preferable)
